An English raider by Captain Gerrard took the spoils for trainer Paul Midgeley at Navan yesterday, when One Boy landedd the WWW.NAVANRACECOURSE.IE HANDICAP, a 5 furlong sprint in testing conditions, pulling clear inside the final furlong. Despite never having won on anything softer than good, One Boy landed this quite snugly despite the Yielding To Soft ground. He always looked to be doing enough close home, and rider Pat Smullen said "He´s a grand horse and he got to the line well".
An 11lb rise in the weights proved no hindrance to "The Resdev Way", who was bred, reared, and sold by Mickley Stud. He has now won three of his last four races on the Tapeta surface at Newcastle Races. Winning jockey Barry McHugh said of the Multiplex gelding "He settles well and travels well. He's won easily, and he'll win again." We are delighted for connections and he's yet another great advert for our versatile stallion Multiplex who produces winners under all codes and just about every trip!
Multitask, a 6yo son of Multiplex, completed a four-timer at Brighton yesterday for trainer Gary Moore, when winning division II of the Brighton Races Oktoberfest 13th Oct Handicap to achieve his TWELFTH CAREER WIN. This tough gelding made all the running, holding off all challengers in the final 2f under promising apprentice Hector Crouch. Well done to owners Power Geneva Ltd who only acquired the horse in the summer and have had four trips to the winners enclosure already!
