Sale-Topper at Goffs!

Topping the second day of trade at Goffs yesterday was the nine-year-old mare Legacy Gold, offered by Mickley Stud’s National Hunt arm, Hurst Farm, on behalf of Roger Brookhouse. She was knocked down for £100,000, and is destined to become a National Hunt broodmare.

Winner of the Listed mares’ bumper at Aintree, she went on to become a three-time hurdle winner, and was third to Vroum Vroum Mag in the Gr.1 David Nicholson Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Vendor Richard Kent was sorry to see her go but said “She is a beautiful mare and I would have loved to have taken her home and covered her by Yorgunnabelucky, but she met her reserve and I wish the best of luck to her new owner.”
