It was a 1-2 for Soldier’s Call fillies in the sprint handicap at Thirsk, as EMERALD HARMONY beat favourite Military Girl, with the winner getting her head in front for the first time after her move to Yorkshire from JP Murtagh’s Irish yard, following her 18,000gns purchase in the Autumn Horses In Training sale last October.
EMERALD HARMONY started well enough in the UK, with a narrow defeat – by only a nose – at Newcastle in March, and had been placed a couple of times since then but was ridden more prominently this time which seemed to suit her and she got on top inside the last.
Her trainer also won this contest a year ago, so well done to Paul Midgley, jockey David Nolan, and all connections.
