Bred at Mickley Stud, COOLER THAN ME had won a point to point, but only had 3 previous runs under rules, benefitted from a step back up in trip to win the handicap hurdle over 2m 4f at Market Rasen for Fergal O’Brien and jockey Fern O’Brien. He knuckled down well and won’t be inconvenienced by a return to further.
The Yorgunnabelucky gelding raced prominently, pressing the leader on the home turn, and took control before 2 out, battling gamely in the final 110yds, and staying on nicely to win cosily.
