ALPHA DELPHINI became the first stakes winner for his sire, Mickley Stud’s Captain Gerrard, with his victory in the Listed Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes on Saturday. The five-year-old gelding, trained by Bryan Smart, was bred by Marie Matthews out of Easy To Imagine, who has produced four winners from as many runners. Alpha Delphini, who was knocked down to Oliver St Lawrence for 20,000gns as a yearling, has now won five of his 11 starts.
