Immensely proud that the first winner at Royal Ascot 2020 was Motakhayyel, successful in the Buckingham Palace Handicap over 7f. Bred by Crossfields Bloodstock Ltd, the 3YO colt was sold as a weanling at Tattersalls December Foal Sale for 30,000gns, and then again as a yearling to Shadwell for 100,000gns.
The colt is out of Virtuality, herself a half sister to G3 Winner and G3 placed Retrieve, as well as Listed winners Reparation & Abduction. Motakhayyel was tough enough to overcome the conditions caused by overnight rain, which wasnt in his favour, but picked up strongly and looking the winner 1f out. On the evidence of this performance, there is good reason to hope that can go on to be a Listed or Group performer in the future.
