Soldier’s Call Joins The Roster!
We are delighted to be standing high-class sprinter and Group-winning sire Soldier’s Call at Mickley Stud for the 2026 covering season.
The son of Showcasing won the Flying Childers, Windsor Castle Stakes and Prix d’Arenberg at two for Archie Watson and Clipper Logistics, as well as placing third in the Prix de L’Abbaye later that season. Soldier’s Call was also third to Blue Point in the King’s Stand Stakes and placed second to Battaash in the Nunthorpe at three. He retired to stud in 2020.
Among Soldier’s Call’s leading progeny is Group 3 winner Dawn Charger, Listed scorers Kaadi and Arugam Bay, plus Group-placed performers Muqtahem, Monello Sabino, War Bride and Dorothy Lawrence. The nine-year-old’s tally stands at three black-type winners and 12 individual stakes performers, while he is also the sire of the appropriately-named Mickley, a winner of the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2024.
Soldier’s Call’s recent sales ring success includes a three-parts brother to champion sprinter Bradsell making 70,000gns to Grangemore Stud at the 2025 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
Mickley Stud owner Richard Kent has followed Soldier’s Call since he was a yearling, watching him develop into a commercial two-year-old who became a Royal Ascot winner. He’s a beautifully made horse with a lovely temperament and will be a great addition for breeders in northern England who are looking to breed fast and precocious two-year-olds.
