Two winners today for Captain Gerrard, and one of his 2 yr olds also earned a good 2nd place in a big field at Windsor.
Trainer Jo Hughes and jockey John Egan combined to earn a first career success for the Mickley Stud bred TOOTY FRUITTY, who got the better of the favourite over 5 furlongs at Wolverhampton. AMY BLAIR also scored at Hamilton for trainer Keith Dalgleish – his fourth win – he goes particularly well here and after this win will move to a career-high mark.
And finally, Captain Gerrard 2yo HUNNI ran into a decent debutant in the Novice Median Auction Stakes at Windsor. Tom Clover’s charge couldn’t get the better of a speedy sort from the Michael Bell stable, which cost 70,000gns as yearling, but that was a very encouraging performance in a 16-runner field and will hopefully be a taster for good things to come!
