The “lucky last” at Newcastle’s evening meeting last night proved to be the opportunity for lightly-raced Captain Gerrard gelding YOUNG TIGER to get off the mark in a contest which was run at a decent pace. He had advertised his liking for the track when runner-up there over the same trip 10 days ago. He won pretty cosily and he should go well here again for trainer Tom Tate in whose colours he runs. Bred by Mrs J McMahon & Mickley Stud, he was a Silver Sale purchase at Doncaster as a yearling and should have more opportunities to come.
