Bred by Mickley Stud in partnership with Lady Lonsdale, and sold by us for only 42,000gns at the December Foals Sale, HAVANA GREY is now 2-2 after an an impressive display to win the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown Park this afternoon. The two-year-old defied a 3lb penalty to win the 5f Listed Race, after a previous Listed race success over course and distance in May. He was ridden with more restraint in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot, which didn’t suit him, and returned to more positive tactics here with a convincing performance, blitzing his rivals and doing better than the winning margin implies. He’s likely to head to either the Molecomb or Robert Papin next.
