A daughter of Multiplex, Lady Valeur, ran the others down in the straight to win the valuable $50,000 Miss America Stakes at Golden Gate Fields in California yesterday. Jockey Ricardo Gonzalez rode her patiently over the extended mile, brought her to the front in the straight, and then held off the others with a driving finish. Snapped up for the American market after just one promising run in Ireland at 2 years, the filly was also placed in a Group 2 at Del Mar earlier in the year and there is sure to be more to come.
