Adam West made the trip up from Epsom to Wolverhampton and it paid dividends as he went home with a winner sired by Captain Gerrard. PEGGIE SUE, who got a nice tow from the two leaders, quickened up well under Paddy Mathers when asked to go and win her race and got off the mark at the seventh attempt. Her best previous run by far had come on Polytrack, so artificial surfaces clearly suit her.
