The 6.20 race at Salisbury last night was a strongly run handicap that set things up nicely for PICKET LINE, a six-year-old gelding by Multiplex who was bred at Mickley Stud. He had dropped to a mark 7lb lower than when he was successful last year, and rider Trevor Whelan got a great tow into the race up the inside, and the gelding found enough when switched to the middle of the track to get his head in front close home. This was a resolute performance, and his fourth career success for trainer Geoffrey Deacon. Picket Line is also the full brother of another former Mickley Stud graduate, Sunshineandbubbles, who has won five times recently, so hopefully Picket Line can kick on again from this success. Well done to connections!
