Smart First time out winner for Mickey Hammond! THURSDAY’S CHILD, by Harry Angel, won on her debut at Newcastle, under rider Billy Garritty, and at a huge price of 66/1. The market doesn’t always know best, and with plenty of stamina on the dam’s side, she was always well positioned and coped well with the emphasis on speed at this trip. Her dam was a quite useful performer, including on AW, and we are delighted that this filly proved up to making a winning start. She knew her job but is likely to improve!
