Another son of Multiplex landed the apprentice handicap at Windsor yesterday. PICKET LINE was squeezed out at the start but got a good enough pace to chase and earned his first turf win to add to a couple of previous all-weather successes. He beat Viva Verglas, a winner twice at Southwell this year, by the narrowest of margins, but suffered badly from interference coming out of the stalls so Cameron Noble gave him a super ride in the circumstances, keeping a cool head and with no signs of panic. Picket Line had previously run well in a 0-80 on turf at Ascot last year so trainer Geoff Deacon always thought there would be a race for him on the surface. Well done to all connections!
