RAISE A SPARK, third in a Class 2 event last time, left his opponents trailing from the foot of the hill at Carlisle today to win by 8 lengths. He is yet another winning son of Multiplex, trained by our good friend Donald McCain, and given a nice ride by Harry Stock. The gelding was clearly suited by a stiff test of stamina, was not inconvenienced by the heavy ground, and may run without a penalty at Sedgefield next Tuesday. Bred at Mickley Stud, that was his fourth win and there will hopefully be more to come.
Less than an hour later, another tough nut from Mickley Stud added to his tally at Southwell when LUV U WHATEVER racked up his 10th career win. Sired by our former stallion Needwood Blade, the 7yo gelding won by 8 lengths under a confident ride from Andrew Mullen. Michael Attwater’s charge has an impressive record at the track and took advantage of a good opportunity to register an eaasy eighth success on Fibresand.
